MacDesktops - An ever-growing collection of high quality images in various resolutions for use as desktop pictures on Apple Macintosh or Windows personal computers. Dynamic Desktop in macOS Mojave is a series of beautiful images that automatically change to match the time of day in your area. Choose from two Dynamic Desktop themes: Mojave and Solar Gradients. You can also choose from a variety of still desktop pictures, including Mojave Day or Mojave Night.

3Choose the image or color that you want to adorn your Desktop. Set your favorite color (say, poppy red) as your Desktop. But what you may not know is that your Mac is also hiding a bunch of additional high quality wallpaper images. These images are used for some of the default screen savers in macOS, and include beautiful shots of nature, space, and National Geographic wildlife. By default, you’ll only see these images when you activate the corresponding screen saver, but the good news is that these image files are just sitting on your Mac’s drive and can be manually found and imported into your normal set of desktop wallpaper. Here’s how to find the hidden wallpaper images in macOS! The hidden wallpaper images are stored in your Mac’s system library folder. To get there, either navigate to the following location manually via Finder or copy and paste the location into the Finder > Go > Go to Folder window: /Library/Screen Savers/Default Collections Either way, you’ll end up looking at a directory with four folders. Inside each is a handful of high quality images corresponding to the name of their parent folder.

One note of caution, however: be careful not to delete or remove any images from the Desktop Pictures folder (if you drag an image out of this folder, it will be copied instead of moved). You need to enter an admin password to remove an image from this folder, so it will be hard to do so by accident, but if you do somehow delete any of these images, you won’t be able to select them from the Desktop System Preference pane and you’ll have to find a replacement copy online to get it back.
